Our History
The Luseland IceHawks are a newly formed Women's Recreational Hockey Team. Created by Seana Binns a transplanted French teacher that had a desire to play hockey in small town Saskatchewan. She put the call out to any women in the surrounding area that were interested in playing for fun and a night out with the girls. We started practicing as a small group towards the end of January 2004, and gained two coaches and a full roster by the end of March.
Last season marked our first full season, and we started playing with 19 full time players.
Our individual talent base varies from players with no competitive hockey history right up to previous University experience. We have a "good" time while still being competitive and learning new skills.
We are very pleased with the response from the community of Luseland in our efforts to buy team jerseys. We got enough business and personal donations to buy a complete set of 19 jerseys and socks. So therefore we will be set for a long time forward. Check out the photos page to see what our new uniforms look like! We also made a donation to the Luseland Memorial Arena in the amount of $2100.00 for glass in the penalty boxes and time-keeper's bench.
We have team merchandise available ie. ball caps, tshirts, golf shirts, bandanas etc for more info please contact Conrad Gartner, or stop at the Royal George Hotel Lounge.
