The Sask West Hockey League (SWHL) finished up Week 6 and with little surprise, the Wilkie Outlaws are 7-0, atop the standings. The Kindersley Sr Klippers (4-2) and the Biggar Nationals (4-3) sit in second place. The Hafford Hawks sit in 4th place with a 3-4 record, while the Edam 3 Stars are 5th with a 2-2-1 record. Rounding out the standings are the Macklin Mohawks (2-3) and the Unity Miners (0-6-1), as of December 3rd.

On Saturday night, the Unity Miners hosted the Hafford Hawks in the second night of back to back action at the Unity Community Centre, affectionaly known as the Shingledome. The Hawks left the building with a 8-2 win. 

Dalyn McCubbing scored first for the home team but Kyle Ireland replyed just 3 minutes later, seeing thru a 1-1 draw after 20 minutes. The scoring line woke up in the second for Hafford as Jorden Braid scored six minutes into the middle frame to put the away team up 2-1. Later, Dallyn Peekeekoot (2)  and Jeremy Boyer scored in a 3 minuted span to extend the lead at 5-1 after 40 minutes. The Boyer goal chased starting goaltender Brett Vanderveer, with Ryan Rewarts coming in as relief. 

The barrage continued as Boyer scored early in the third, with Ireland finding twine again as well. Hunter Sperle scored a short handed marker to make it 7-2, but far too little too late. Ireland's hattrick goal with 2:29 left rounded out the scoring.
Chase Honan took the win stopping 26 of 28 shots. Vanderveer takes the loss, stopping 17 of 21 shots, while Rewarts stopped 19 of 23 shots in relief.

The Biggar Nationals welcomed the Edam 3 Stars into the Jubilee Stadium and held off the thundering horses with a 3-2 Overtime win.

Keaton Haynes scored midway thru the 1st period to give the home team the 1-0 after 1 period. Brett Novak extended the lead early in the 2nd but Joel Blaquiere answered on the power play, and the Nats headed back to the locker room up 2-1 after 2 periods.

Damon Schaefer tied the game up just four minutes into the final frame, which is how it stayed. In the extra frame, just a minute in, it was Dylan Haynes' second of the night that was the game winner and sending the crowd home happy.
Tayrn Kotchorek took the OTL stopping 27 of 30 shots, while work horse Brett Matlock takes the win stopping 32 of 34 shots.

On Friday night, the Unity Miners hosted the Hafford Hawks in the first of the back to back weekend for both teams, with the Hawks winning by an 7-2 score.

It was all Hafford as Drue Allison, Brandon Lekso and Kyle Ireland all scored within the first 10 mintues of the game. Davis Chorney finally got the home squad on the board but Quinton Cubbon potted his first of the year, as the Hawks held a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes.

A quiet second period yeilded goals from Cubbon and Ireland, as they held a commanding 6-1 lead after 2 periods. It took almost 9 minutes of play in the final frame before Easton McLean scored to cut the lead to 6-2 but Jeremy Boyer replyed to extend the lead to its final score.

Joel Gryzbowski stopped 32 of 34 shots for the Win, while Ryan Rewarts stopped 28 of 35 shots in the loss.
A heaveyweight matchup at the SaskCan Community Centre between the Kindersley Sr Klippers and the hometown Wilkie Outlaws did not disappoint, as the Outlaws won 6-3.

Rick Cey scord the lone goal of the first frame, which at times were a slow burn. The second period saw some flame to the gas can as Jonny Calkins scored to tie the game at 1-1. Just after the midway point, Wilkie went wild with goals from Andrew Herle, Brett Boehm, Brock Harrison and Ryne Keller all in a 4 minute span. Lane Gilliss scored on the power play with 47 seconds left but the Outlaws held the important 5-2 lead after 2 periods.

The fire works and heavy play continued into the third period. Cey scored midway thru to make it 6-3, while Damon McKenzie scored to fill out the scoring portion.

Logan Drackett took the loss, stopping 50 of 56 shots while Jared Herle stopped 33 of 36 shots for the 'W'.

Jeremy Boyer had an impressive weekend in Unity, amassing 6 points (3-3) in the two games at the Shingledome.

Four games on the schedule for the upcoming weekend as Hafford Hawks travel to Edam to visit the 3 Stars and the Macklin Mohawks host the Biggar Nationals on Friday. The Kindersley Sr Klippers host the Unity Miners and Biggar Nationals host the Macklin Mohawks on Saturday.
